Terms and Conditions - GAME JAM

ABOUT THE EVENT:

The Crazy Web Multiplayer Jam 2025 is a game development marathon focused on creating web-based multiplayer games. Our goal is to inspire innovation in multiplayer gaming and support the creative community with visibility and rewards.

These Terms and Conditions outline the rules and conditions of participation in the Crazy Web Multiplayer Jam 2025 to ensure a successful event. Further information and guidelines will be provided through our official channels.

GENERAL PROVISIONS

  1. The Crazy Web Multiplayer Jam 2025 (“Event” or “Game Jam”) is co-organized by CrazyGames / MAXFLOW BV, based in Kessel-Lo, Belgium, and Indie Hero, based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (“Organizers”).

  2. Event Duration and Format: The Event will be conducted online between April 25 and May 5, 2025. All activities, including submissions, communications, and judging, will take place through designated online platforms. Participants are responsible for ensuring they have the necessary internet access and tools to participate.
  3. Participation: Participants must register and create a game for the Event (“Game”). Participants must be 18 or older or represented by a legal guardian for award eligibility. Teams must include at least one member aged 18 or older. The Event is open globally, unless restricted by local laws.

  4. Valid Project: A Valid Project must meet the following:
    1. Comply with these Terms and Conditions and provided Guidelines;
    2. Be a web-based multiplayer game using Photon technology;
    3. Be developed during the event period only;
    4. Be submitted to the CrazyGames developer portal before the deadline;
    5. Include complete game submission info;
    6. Be appropriate for a PEGI 12+ audience; and
    7. The participant must complete the submission with all required info regarding the Game; 

TERMS AND RULES OF PARTICIPATION

  1. Respectful Conduct: Respect towards all participants and organizers is mandatory. Discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated and may lead to disqualification.

  2. Free Registration: Participation in the Event is free.

  3. Team Representation: Each team must appoint a representative responsible for communication.

  4. Team Formation: Team formation is open and unrestricted by the Organizers.Use of Software and Assets: Games must be built using Photon for multiplayer functionality. Use of licensed third-party assets is allowed with proper attribution.

  5. Legal Responsibility: Participants are responsible for ensuring all used assets are properly licensed.

  6. Disqualification: Games may be disqualified if they:

    1. Break laws or infringe rights;
    2. Use hate speech or inappropriate content;
    3. Are inconsistent with fair practice or community guidelines;

  7. Technical Issues: The Organizers are not liable for technical issues affecting participation. Support is available via Discord.

  8. Exclusive Development Period: Games must be developed entirely during the event period. Pre-existing projects will be disqualified.

  9. Malicious Code: Games must not include harmful or invasive code.

  10. Time Zone: The official time zone for the Event is CET.

  11. Submission Deadline: Games must be submitted to the CrazyGames portal by 11:59 PM CET on May 5, 2025.

SELECTION OF FINALISTS / AWARDS

  1. Prizes: A total prize pool of €10,000 will be awarded. Finalists will be selected based on criteria outlined in the Game Jam guidelines. All decisions are at the discretion of the Organizers. Prizes are non-transferable. Any taxes or fees are the responsibility of the winners.

     

  2. Judging and Announcement: Winners will be announced after the judging period. The process and criteria will be shared in the jam guidelines.

     

  3. Unclaimed Prizes: Unclaimed prizes or unfulfilled requirements may result in forfeiture of the prize.

     

  4. Disqualification for Unfair Practices: Participants found in violation of these Terms or who engage in misconduct may be disqualified.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

  1. Participants retain all intellectual property rights to their Games. The Organizers claim no ownership over submitted content.

     

  2. Originality and Ownership: Participants must ensure their Games are original or legally use third-party content. Organizers are not liable for IP violations.

     

  3. Promotional Use: By participating, developers grant the Organizers the right to use screenshots, videos, and descriptions of the Games for promotional purposes related to the Game Jam, without additional compensation.

PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA

Data Collected: The Event may collect data including name, email, country, age, and Discord username to manage participation and communications.

Purpose: Data is used for participant identification, event communication, and organizing purposes. It will not be shared externally.

Data Accuracy: Participants are responsible for providing accurate and up-to-date information.

Data Use and Retention: Personal data will be retained only as long as necessary and will be deleted or anonymized when no longer needed.

Participant Rights: Participants can access, update, or request deletion of their data in accordance with GDPR or applicable local laws.

Security: Reasonable measures will be taken to protect participant data.

FINAL PROVISIONS

  1. Event Changes: The Organizers may suspend or cancel the Event due to unforeseen circumstances. Participants will be informed of major changes.

     

  2. Acceptance: By joining the Event, participants agree to these Terms and Conditions.

     

  3. Governing Law: These Terms are governed by the laws of Belgium. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of Belgian courts.
